(My Answer)
Though I will conclude that the contribution of scientists to society is excellent, it is better to discuss possible contributions of the both sides, artists and scientists. I will show my position as follows.
To begin with, scientists improve a lot of methods to save our time. For example, they develop mobile vehicles, such as train, plane and car. These vehicles take us shorter time to go to destinations than without using them. Such spare time would enhance my creativity. I could enjoy reading books when I have sufficient time not for my profession but for my pure fun.
On the other hand, artists make us happy because they give us many opportunities to communicate with others. For instance, when I went to museum with my friends and watched some paintings, I could truly enjoy hearing different views and opinions about these drawings. Watching a Abraham Lincoln's portrait, my friend was interested in the drawing techniques and I thought his historical importance. Indeed, hearing such diversified views from my friends enriched my thought and I got wider views with an open mind. In addition, by getting familiar with different kind of ideas, I could grow my creativity faster than ever.
For all these reasons which I mentioned above, I still think that contribution of scientists is better than the other. This is because it has another advantage. Science renders us chances of solving a difficult problem such as food shortage. Once chemical fertilizer was invented, the amount of food dramatically increased. The amount of food has increased ten times as much as in 1900s. That is why we support seven billion people in the world now. Of course, the food supply is not enough to support all of humans, However, if scientists find another solution to increase food, we humans will shine forever.
